Naked, Thames and YouTube given exclusive access to live stream global icon Davido as he performs at Afro Nation festival

This summer, YouTube Originals will be giving music fans a Festival treat with a look behind the scenes of an Afrobeats legend’s preparation for, and performance at, the iconic Afro Nation Festival in Portugal in Road to Afro Nation: Davido LIVE.

Produced by Naked and Thames (both Fremantle labels), camera crews will be given an exclusive, all access pass to the festival as well as a special, intimate glimpse of Davido, an icon of the Afrobeats genre, as he prepares for his epic headline performance at the festival. Viewers will also get sneak peek of Davido’s homelife in Lagos as well as in the studio as he works on his album.

Road to Afro Nation: Davido LIVE launches today (24 June) with the first of a number of YouTube Shorts which will run throughout the build-up to the much-anticipated live broadcast on 1 July which will be livestreamed on Davido’s YouTube Channel.

The live broadcast, from the first night of the Afro Nation music festival, will be hosted by TV presenter and social media personality, Zeze Millz. Millz will guide viewers through the live stream with behind-the-scenes moments with Davido himself, as well as exclusive performances of some of the other incredible artists set to perform, Festival highlights from earlier that day and an insight into the back story of Afro Nation and how it came to be.

Afro Nation is one of the biggest weekends of music across the year and other exciting artists set to perform at this year’s festival include Chris Brown, Burna Boy, Megan Thee Stallion and
Wizkid.

Road to AfroNation: Davido LIVE will be Executive Produced by Tom O’Brien for Naked and Amelia Brown and Debbie David for Thames. The Producer / Directors are Nelson Adeoson and Richard Mejeh and the show will be series produced by Vanessa Van-Yeboah. The broadcast is part of YouTube Originals Black Voices Fund. Launched in 2020, the #YouTubeBlackVoicesFund is a multi-year commitment dedicated to spotlighting and growing Black creators and music on the YouTube platform, by providing access to resources to help people thrive on YouTube.
